Q: We typically go to the beach for a week every year around the beginning of July. This year, that’s about 3 weeks after baby is due. Is it safe/ok to take baby to the beach at 3-4 weeks old? Of course baby would be under a tent when outside and kept cool with limited time outside.
Ans: Yes it is safe to go to the beach. It is great when you are staying there and have a house to go into. Just remember to take the baby out in the early morning before the heat of the day. Babies can BAKE in the heat so I am not a fan of babies out under an umbrella for hours.Being out several times a day for limited time is fine. The baby is too small for sunscreen too ( I am sure you know that – just a reminder) Use common sense and have a wonderful time!
