Good morning, I was hoping I could get some help with a question or two. What is safe water to use for baby formula? Our home has a water softener along with a whole house filter that filters all the water. We have also have a water purifier in addition to all that with its own separate little faucet that we use for the babies. If we get the water tested is there particular levels of contamination that are "safe/normal". Should we be boiling the water or just buy the gallon water jugs specifically meant for baby consumption (but then it is in plastic, is that safe?) I really appreciate the input, water company says to contact pediatrician regarding safe drinking levels. Ans: Thank you for asking. KEEP IT SIMPLE. Filtered water is fine. If you have a filter on the whole house and drink your tap water, then that is fine. You can buy distilled water at the store and that is fine as well. If you are feeling pretty understressed then you can boil water and store it. I would not test the water unless there has been some health alert in your area or you have well water. If you have well water then I would buy distilled water to make the formula. We love helping improve the health of your family! Thanks for asking. Dr Franz
